A strong commitment to sustainability,
community, and environmental stewardship
A sustainable approach allows us to address today’s requirements while ensuring future generations can fulfil theirs.
We take our responsibilities seriously and must ensure the project benefits the local and broader community. First and foremost, our operations adhere to high health, safety, and environmental standards. We promote sustainable practices throughout our business and foster positive relations with our staff, suppliers, and contractors.
We aim to become Europe’s first carbon-neutral mine, responsibly producing the raw materials needed for everyday life and the economy’s transition to net zero. We’re not waiting until we receive planning permission. Instead, we are taking action to build a culture where sustainable practices are at the forefront of our operations today. For example, we’ve achieved Carbon Neutral Plus status for five years running.
The United Nations has laid out 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to promote peace and prosperity for people and the planet now and into the future. We track how our current activities and future mine activities will contribute to building a sustainable future.
Our Sustainable Development Goals
Reporting
A long-term, responsible approach to modern mining.
We are committed to reporting on our sustainability performance in line with the Sustainability Accounting Standards Board (SASB) Metals and Mining Standards.
We also incorporate the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals into our reporting to make it easier to see how our current activities contribute and how our future mine will contribute to building a sustainable future.
