Job Purpose

This is a front-of-house, hands-on role working to support the mining and site operations.  The warehouse operator will mainly support the technical and maintenance teams.

The warehouse operator will work directly within the warehousing team in daily practices such as stock control, loading and unloading by forklift, investigating part requirements, retrieval of parts from the warehouse, placing orders, and other inventory requirements and checks.  All required training will be provided.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate effective housekeeping skills in the work area.

  • Dispatch of materials to relevant departments, when requested.

  • Use of a computer for basic record-keeping and stock control of parts.

  • Handling of materials and supplies in a safe and efficient manner, including the use of appropriate PPE and lifting of equipment for heavier items.

  • Operation of forklift or other available lifting equipment.

  • Visual inspection of storage facilities to maintain safe storage and movement of goods & supplies at all times.

  • Count, weigh, measure and inspect materials and supplies received.

  • Provide immediate support to equipment breakdowns and operational requirements.

  • Ordering of materials and stock using the relevant computer system.

  • Placing orders & goods into the computer system.

Personal Requirements

  • A valid driving license.

  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team.

  • Experience of operating equipment/machinery.

  • Candidates from the following industries, including but not limited to construction, quarrying, trucking, and farming, are all encouraged to apply.

  • Basic computer input experience.

  • Physical fitness and ability to carry a variety of objects.

  • Flexibility and availability to vary work hours to oversee ad hoc tasks.
